The COSMIC mission is Astroscale's solution for UK's national Active Debris Removal (ADR) mission, harnessing Astroscale's Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) and robotic debris capture capabilities to remove two inactive British satellites currently orbiting Earth.
Purpose / Objective
The COSMIC debris removal servicer will be a technological evolution of ELSA-M, with a robotic arm capture system to grab the inactive satellites. Leveraging technology matured in our ELSA-d and ADRAS-J operations, Astroscale's proven flight heritage ensures a unique, safe and highly reliable UK ADR mission.
Designed and integrated in the UK with a strong supply chain around the country, COSMIC will push forward the commercial on-orbit servicing economy with greater national capabilities, world-leading facilities, and strategic partnerships in the UK.
